1961 Bentley S2 Restoration Project

"After"

Tear Down - Left Passenger Door
Never would have guessed that's how a Bentley door is made.

Restored - Left Passenger Door
A woofer or midrange is going in that cubby next.

Tear Down - Right Driver Door
Right-hand driver's door

Restored - Right Driver Door
I look forward to trying out the adjustable armrest.

Tear Down - Left Rear Door
If you're trying to remove the leather panels of your S2 or Silver Cloud's doors, now you know where all the fastening points are.

Restored - Left Rear Door
Never had electric windows, and never will. Peter Jurgens says he got the a/c working, so no need.

Tear Down - Right Rear Door
Not an easy job.

Restored - Right Rear Door
Just beautiful.

Tear Down - Dash from the Driver's Side
That looks complicated.

Restored - Dash from the Driver's Side
My father-in-law installed the Nardo steering wheel. Now it doesn't look out of place.

Tear Down - Dash from the Passenger's Side
I am glad I did not attempt this as a DIY.

Restored - Dash from the Passenger's Side
Incredibly deep luster.

Tear Down - Back Seat from the Right, again
If you didn't know it would be restored, would you feel heartbroken? I would.

Restored - Back Seat Folding Tables from the Right
No smoking, please, even though there are ashtrays.

Tear Down - Back Seat from the Right Side
Somehow, Lombards Stereo is going to figure out how to install a subwoofer box, woofers, and amp back there.

Restored - Back Seat from the Right
If I ever trust another driver, I might enjoy sitting here.

Restored - Sun Visors and Front Headliner from the Driver's Side
The color of the visors adds interest and contrast.

New headliner. No more disintegrating fabric and glue dust falling into my hair.

Restored - Front Seat from the Passenger's Side
I didn't expect to reupholster the front, but I'm glad we did.

Restored - An Extended Folding Table
Trademark folding picnic tables for my Grey Poupon.

I received a set of photos from Justin Jurgens with his most recent update on 30 May 2022. As he said, the refinished wood looks gorgeous. And the upholstery, headliner, and carpets are spectacular. I am also intrigued with how the car looks when it is taken apart. Check these out!
